Olam Agri Champions Baker Health with Over 8,000 Screenings Completed in 2025

Sustainability | Business & Product

Olam Agri has reaffirmed its commitment to the health and well-being of Ghanaian communities through the successful rollout of the 2025 cycle of its Healthy Baker programme.

This dedicated initiative, carried out in collaboration with Twentyth Consult and the Regional Coordinating Council, is designed to help bakers understand their health status while promoting adherence to regulatory health and safety standards.

The 2025 cycle commenced in February in Takoradi, marking the start of a focused effort to reach 7,000 bakers with comprehensive health assessments. Over the subsequent months, dedicated screening teams expanded the programme’s reach to major cities, including Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast, ensuring extensive nationwide coverage.

The programme has not only met but exceeded its initial target, impacting 8,035 bakers through thorough health screenings. This milestone reflects Olam Agri’s proactive approach to public health and its efforts in boosting hygiene standards within the food industry.

Healthy Baker programme

Beyond the impressive numbers, the Healthy Baker programme has empowered participants with critical health knowledge, enabling early intervention and encouraging healthier lifestyles. Many bakers have been referred for further medical care, demonstrating the programme’s effectiveness in bridging gaps in occupational health services and promoting long-term well-being.

The success of the 2025 cycle sets a strong foundation for future growth, reflecting Olam Agri’s dedication to fostering healthier working environments and contributing meaningfully to the sustainability of Ghana’s baking industry.
