<span class="p2">We manage 2.1 million hectares of forest concessions in the north of the <a href="/locations/republic-of-congo">Republic of Congo</a> in line with leading international forest certification standards. Our operations are spread over five locations: Pokola, Loundoungou, Kabo, North Pikounda and Mimbeli Ibenga.</span>
<span class="p2">Harvesting takes place in four concessions in which we produce products that are 100% certified by the FSC<sup>®</sup> and PEFC. We maintain and a fifth concession in Pikounda as a conservation area where over 92,000 hectares are permanently preserved as part of the REDD+ programme in partnership with the Republic of Congo.</span>

We’ve strong links with technology and research institutions, both in Europe and in the tropics, and regularly engage with scientific teams visiting the region.</span>

<span class="p2">Certification involves a set of strict requirements. It focuses on specific areas which include compliance with laws, workers’ rights and employment conditions, indigenous peoples’ rights, community relations, benefits from the forest, environmental values and Impacts, management planning, monitoring and assessment, high conservation values, and implementation of management activities.</span>

<span class="p2" style = "text-align: left; display:block">Olam Agri manages 2.1 million hectares of forest concessions in the north of the Republic of Congo, in line with leading international forest certification standards. This is the world's largest contiguous FSC<sup>®</sup> certified tropical hardwood concession. All our production forests are also PEFC-certified. This scale supports consistent, verifiable sourcing for customers who need large or recurring volumes of certified tropical hardwood.</span>

<span class="p2" style = "text-align: left; display:block">No. Harvesting takes place in four of Olam Agri's five concessions, all producing 100% FSC<sup>®</sup> and PEFC certified products. The fifth, North Pikounda, is maintained entirely as a conservation area. More than 92,000 hectares there are permanently protected from logging under a REDD+ programme run in partnership with the Republic of Congo, rather than harvested for timber.</span>
<span class="h7" style = "text-align: left; display:block">How can a customer verify Olam Agri's PEFC and FSC<sup>®</sup> concession license numbers?</span>
<span class="p2" style = "text-align:left; display:block">Olam Agri publishes its concession license numbers directly, and buyers can cross-check certificate validity on the official PEFC and FSC<sup>®</sup> website at search.fsc.org and pefc.org/find-certified, which lists current certification status for operations globally. Olam Agri also provides concession-specific documentation, including forest management plans and third-party certification records, for each of its five concession sites, supporting customers' own supplier due diligence and chain-of-custody verification.</span>

<span class="p2" style = "text-align:left; display:block">Yes. Olam Agri works with the Association Technique Internationale des Bois Tropicaux (ATIBT), an international technical body for the tropical timber industry, on harvesting best practice, and maintains relationships with European and tropical research institutions that visit its Congo concessions. Engaging external technical and scientific bodies, rather than relying only on internal review, is part of how the company positions its forest management as independently informed.</span>
