Renewable Energy Solutions

We are progressing our climate action agenda by partnering with Daystar Power to launch the largest solar PV system at our Kaduna animal feed plant. Generating 1,946 MWh of clean electricity annually, this installation will supply 22% of the plant’s daytime power, offsetting 28,152 litres of diesel and 1,184 MWh of grid electricity each year and cutting CO₂ emissions by 552 tonnes.
This is our fourth solar project with Daystar Power, following successful installations at our rice farm in Nasarawa, Iganmu headquarters, and wheat milling and pasta sites at Beachland and Ikorodu in Lagos. Together, these projects reflect our ongoing commitment to low-carbon, energy-efficient operations and the expansion of renewables across Nigeria.

Strengthening Food Security & Nutrition

Our wheat milling business has reached vital goals in its decade-long ‘Seed for the Future’ initiative, which focuses on wheat seed trials in Jigawa state. This has led a breakthrough with the release of ‘Crown’, a heat-tolerant, early maturing durum wheat variety tailored to Nigeria’s climate. This variety boasts high yields, suitability across various wheat-growing regions in Nigeria, and excellent qualities for milling. This new type of wheat is among the genotype seeds encouraged by the initiative. It excelled in national variety tests, outperforming the standard reference in yield and farming attributes.
