Olam Agri Launches Dêmin to Empower Rubber Producers in Côte d’Ivoire

Olam Agri officially launched the project “Dêmin” on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, in Abengourou. Dêmin, which means support in the Malinké language, is an initiative designed to assist our partner producers in acquiring vehicles and transport equipment, with the aim of improving their productivity and operational performance.

Following the “Gouassou” programme, which rewards planter loyalty, and the “Nassey” programme, focused on community support, Dêmin seeks to address the logistical constraints faced by our agricultural partners, particularly in the transportation of cup lump rubber.

The beneficiaries are loyal suppliers who consistently deliver their products for at least ten out of the twelve months of the year. In this first phase, 13 vehicles with a total value of USD 550,000 were part of the project. The keys to these vehicles were handed over to seven cooperatives and four individual planters, selected for their loyalty and competitiveness.

Mr. Basha explained that after initiatives focused on the sustainability initiatives for planters and community support, one of the main challenges faced by producers and cooperatives remains the evacuation and transportation of products. He noted that the Dêmin project provides a concrete response to the challenges linked to high transport costs, which impact supplier performance and supply security.

He also highlighted that with Dêmin, Olam Agri is taking another step forward in empowering its partner producers and strengthening their capacities. He reassured stakeholders that flexible repayment terms, ranging from 12 to 48 months, are offered based on beneficiaries’ income levels.

“Our ambition is simple: to improve every year, to be a long-term partner, to ensure the satisfaction of our suppliers and our customers, while providing a working environment that complies with regulations,”

Through the Dêmin project, Olam Agri reaffirms its commitment to building sustainable partnerships with its suppliers and to developing a more efficient, inclusive, and resilient rubber value chain in Côte d’Ivoire.
