Marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month <span class="txt-orange">with Vocational Training for Women in Cameroon</span>
<span class="p1"><br><b>Douala, Cameroon - </b>In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Olam Agri has successfully conducted a three-day vocational training programme for women in the Bafoussam 1 and 2 municipalities. This initiative focused on the production of breast prostheses, and hair wigs for breast cancer patients and survivors, providing not only essential support but also a source of extra income for the participants.</span>
<span class="p1">The primary objectives of this programme were to increase awareness and educate the community about breast and prostate cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of early detection. An oncologist from the regional hospital led an informative awareness session, while BEHFA Health partnered with us to promote healthy lifestyles for women and their families. The vocational training, supported by the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF) and conducted by the Association for the Promotion of Young People in Difficulty (APROJED), equipped over 60 women with valuable skills. At the conclusion of the training, certificates were awarded to all participants and their trainers.</span>
