Olam Agri, a leading agribusiness in food, feed, and fibre, has donated school supplies and funds to the Government Bilingual Primary School Bekoko to support the proper education of 1,000 school kids who were previously coming to class with no books, pens and other necessary items.
The donation, which took place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, consisted of one pack of essential school items that include pencils, pens, notebooks, rulers, and rubbers for each of the 1,000 kids. This donation reflects our commitment to supporting education and nurturing the young minds of Cameroon. We believe that every child deserves the right tools to aid their learning process and is proud to contribute to this cause.
The Headmistress of the school, Madam Bwale Jeanne Marie, and the other school directors expressed their profound gratitude to Olam Agri for providing the school with the basic school amenities needed at such a time like this. She said, "We are grateful to Olam Agri for being the first company to actively respond to the needs of our children. The school has 1000 kids who come to class with no books, pens, or whatsoever due to little or no finances. We are extremely grateful for this support, especially for the education of the children. This will go a long way to equip them and have them study at ease. Thank you for bringing joy to their faces at the beginning of the year 2024. Thank you for your commitment to us as an institution and for your ever-continuous support to the communities in need in Cameroon. The entire school says Thank You "
“As a company, we are happy we could be here today to render this support to the children of Bekoko. They are indeed the future of tomorrow and we as a company pride ourselves in supporting our communities to succeed. We believe this will go a long way to help the school and the kids. Thank you for your warm reception and we will continue to do our best to help the younger generation thrive.‘’ He also advised the children to be respectful to their teachers on parting knowledge, parents for their sacrifices and encouraged them to build strong relationships with the schoolmates who may become their strong network in future life ”
