Joining forces with Carrefour Market for a Greener Douala on World Clean Up Day
Douala, Cameroon – Olam Agri, through its renowned rice brand Riz Bijou, in partnership with Carrefour Market, successfully conducted a comprehensive cleanup activity across the environs of Douala 1er, 3eme, 4eme, and 5eme.
This initiative, held on Saturday, September 21st, was in commemoration of World Clean Up Day, which aims to activate 5% of the world’s population to catalyse lasting societal change in behaviour around mismanaged waste.
The event aimed to sensitise the community on the importance of environmental protection and promote a greener planet by collecting plastic waste in these areas. It was part of a global effort to mobilise people for coordinated voluntary action, fostering collaboration, and raising awareness about the tangible need to reduce waste pollution. It also served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to preserve and maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Employees of Olam Agri actively participated in the cleanup, demonstrating the company’s commitment to community engagement and environmental sustainability.
