Launching Biochar Production in Côte d’Ivoire <span class="txt-orange">to Boost Climate Resilience</span>
<span class="p2"><b>Diawala, Côte d’Ivoire</b> - Olam Agri, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and with the support of the Government of Japan, marked a significant milestone with the launch of local biochar production.</span>

<span class="p2">As part of this initiative, 24 pieces of equipment — including tricycles, wheelbarrows, carbonisers (improved kilns), rakes, machetes, and protective gear — were handed over to farming communities. Combined with training, these tools enable farmers to transform cotton stalks into biochar, improving soil fertility and boosting yields, creating decent jobs for young people, women, and refugees, and strengthening climate resilience while driving inclusive growth in the Tchologo region.</span>
