The newly established WASHCOM will play a critical role in supporting the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the water and sanitation facilities, helping to ensure they remain functional, safe, and accessible for all learners.
As part of the initiative, pupils and teachers also received training on hygiene and sanitation, including menstrual health and hygiene management, while teachers were provided with emergency menstrual hygiene kits to support girls and foster a more inclusive learning environment.
This initiative reflects our commitment to improving health, dignity, inclusion, and educational outcomes for children, particularly girls, children living with disabilities, and vulnerable learners.
To ensure lasting impact, hygiene and sanitation sensitisation sessions, training activities, and continuous engagement with both the Hygiene Clubs and WASHCOM will continue within the school. In addition, the functionality and utilisation of the water and sanitation facilities will be monitored over the next six months to support effective maintenance, ownership, and long-term sustainability.
