Olam Agri is a pivotal contributor to Senegal’s agri-business sector with over 13 years of experience in the wheat milling industry.
Our operations in Dakar cater to local export and industrial customers for all product segments. These include bakery flour, biscuit flour, seasoning flour, pasta flour, whole wheat flour, patisserie flour, beignet and traditional flour.
A strong and diverse workforce of over 600 employees work across our operations. Permanent employees comprise of 30% women and over half of our departments are headed by female employees. We have three modern processing facilities and serve over 8,400 customers worldwide.
Wheat Milling
Senegal is one of the largest consumers of wheat flour in West Africa, annually consuming approximately 800,000 MT of Wheat.
We play a significant role in the processing and distributing wheat flour industry, catering to bread production and other industrial sectors, including pasta, biscuit, and seasoning powder production.
We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility spread across five hectares of land. Our facilities have 165K MT annual wheat milling capacity, 25K MT wheat storage capacity, and 5K MT finished goods storage capacity. We have 12 depots spread across 9 regions of Senegal. Namely Dakar, Mbour, Thies, Touba, Kaolack, Ourrossogui, St. Louis, Kolda and Ziguinchor.
Animal Feed & Protein
We manufacture and distribute poultry feed directly to customers and through resellers. With our recent acquisition of Avisen, the second largest poultry feed producer in Senegal, we serve over 300 customers, including more than 10 industrial players. We operate 12 depots across different regions in the nation.
The Rufisque facility in Rufisque features a 432 tons-per-day feed mill and an abattoir with a capacity of 6,500 birds per day. This strategic positioning enables us to best support customers in the region.

Livelihoods
In 2019, we launched the MAMIE Project (Making African Mothers Independent & Entrepreneurs) to empower entrepreneurial female food vendors in local markets and streets. We provide starter kits and training in hygiene, literacy, and entrepreneurship. Currently, we support 300 MAMIEs, with a goal of reaching 500 by December 2024.
Awareness campaigns on breast and cervical cancers take place annually. In 2023, 400 women benefited from free medical screening.
Nature & Climate
We support the development of local farming by identifying resilient local wheat varieties. In collaboration with researchers from ICARDA, SLU University of Sweden, Mohammed V University of Morocco, and local research institutes, we have identified two resilient wheat varieties. Our world-class laboratory assists with research and development.
Nature & Climate
We’re committed to operating in an environmentally sustainable manner throughout our business. We launched a green initiative called ‘My Plant, My Pride’. The initiative is designed to encourage employees, their family members, and external guests to plant tree seedlings on our premises. To date, over 275 trees have been planted.
